Wind Farms
Telford Hart Associates, largely due to its expertise in Substation Contract Administration and Project Management has been successful in its bid to provide consultancy services on the construction of the UK's first high voltage offshore wind farm situated 7km out from Barrow-in-Furness. This includes the construction of the new 132kV onshore feeder substation and onshore cable installation.
The project consists of 30 offshore turbines, generating 90 megawatts of electricity.
Following the success of this project Telford Hart Associates have been involved with the whole of project cost monitoring and installation of 132kV cables to the distribution network for Scoutmoor Windfarm near Rochdale.
Most recently Telford Hart Associates were appointed to carry out consultancy services on what will be the UK's largest high voltage offshore wind farm at Robin Rigg in the Solway Firth. The firm has built on its previous experience of offshore developments and is now involved with tender evaluations, project monitoring and cost consultancy of both the onshore substation and the two offshore substations. The latter are being assembled onshore and will be floated out to the windfarm and installed onto prepared bases in the proximity of the turbine grid.
The project consists of 60 offshore turbines, generating 180 megawatts of electricity.
